Mosaic Classes at Architectural Glassarts
We have several different mosaic classes available at the studio that are a great option for make and take projects! If you want to learn more advanced techniques, we've got those classes, too!
Reserve Open Studio or Class Space
Learn the basics of mosaic making. We'll cut stained glass tiles, glue them to a base and finish by grouting. You'll leave with a finished 8" mirror ready to hang in your home!
Cost $85 - 3 sessions - Tuesdays 6-8pm; Fridays 10am-noon; or Saturdays 10am-noon
Mosaic Nightlights
Learn to make a quick mosaic night light to keep or give as a gift. Make two night lights in two sessions.
COST $50 (2 SESSIONS)

Learn to create mosaics using scraps from your stained glass collection while making a gorgeous functional mosaic tray that can double as a table top. We'll start by picking or creating patterns (bring inspirational images or designs to class for drafting your own design). Then you'll learn tips for cutting glass to create tiles, how to lay your tiles to accentuate your design, gluing, grouting and finishing your tray!
Cost $120 plus $30 materials fee for tray and substrate. Use of tools and scrap glass is included. If you want, you may purchase sheet glass. - 6 sessions
Mosaic Serving Tray
In this class, learn the technique for creating stepping stones that you can make on your own without investing in special molds and without the mess of pouring cement! A great way to utilize stained glass scraps! .
Cost $100 - 4 sessions
Glass on Glass Mosaic Mandalas
Sharpen your glass cutting skills while building a gorgeous mosaic window. You will learn tricks for cutting circles, how to frame your mosaics with zinc edge came, basic soldering skills needed to make your own metal frames, tips and tricks for working with various adhesives, and how to choose the best adhesive for your project (several different examples made with different adhesives and the pros and cons of each will be on display for discussion).
We will discuss basic color theory to help you choose your glass, talk about pattern variations and the best way to approach cutting a pattern out of a sheet of glass and finish with grouting pointers.
If you've ever wanted to explore mosaics or enhance your repertoire, Carrie will show you how easy it is to start combining your skills to create unique pieces with mosaic, stained glass and fused glass.
